convections of thriller

stereotypical thriller tends to consist of a battle between the protagonist and the antagonist when there is disruption of equilibrium. the narrative generally shows a chain of bad events that leads up to a final battle and the protagonists main objective is to restore justice, while the antagonist intends to destroy it.

sub genres in thrillers

A sub genre is a subdivision of a film, so basically its second genre within a film. here are a few examples;  

spy thrillers

In which the hero is generally a government agent who must take violent action against agents of a rival government or (in recent years) terrorists. For example any James Bond film.
 

political thrillers

In which the protagonist must ensure stability of the government that employs the protagonist. sometimes based on actual events and often has elements of conspiracy's. an example of this type of thriller is "Aygo".
 

military thriller

The hero is typically a uniformed military officer operating behind enemy lines alone or as part of a small team of specialists often succeeding against all the odds. an example would be "saving private ryan"
 

medical thriller

where the protagonist is generally principled physician who must fight corrupt drug companies or colleagues engaged in unethical experiments, an example would be "coma".
 

forensic thrillers

n which the heroes are forensic experts whose involvement with a unsolved crime puts their lives at risk, for example " the Bone Collector"
 

psychological thriller

Conflict between main characters is mental and emotional rather than physical for example "gone girl"
 

horror thriller
